VOL II (From Bolzano to Lugano 01 April 2013)

From Bolzano Italy to Lugano Switzerland, the hard way, through the Italian Alps. Noramal time through the Autostrada 4.5 hours, time through the Alps 10 grueling hours, whilst ill with a bad cold, sneezing, watery eyes, headache, and dripping irritating nosal discomfort..........BUT....I made it!

The photos were dangerous to take at times whilst driving, but hey.......I'm nuts!

People always ask me: "Why don't you fly everywhere? It faster and cheaper. My experience is OH Contrare, not in this day and age. If one considers the tight booking schedules and changes of airlines, delayed flights, hanging out in airports, paying for overpriced taxis to go anywhere and everywhere. Compounded by being stranded in a location where you do not want to be in and if you take cheap flights being flown to airports so remote from where your hotels are that the cost difference is nulled out or gone negative in their favour. Believe me, I've been there and done that and nowdays it's even worse. Plus me flying around with remote controlled battery-less and wireless "trigger" switches!.................HELLOOO! As for me I'll take the Alps any day, besides how in hell would I fake all these beautiful photoags??? Don't want to disappoint me fans! :) LOL

 This is nothing......yet!

 Me diverting off the Autostrada and heading the mountain road route.

 I stopped in this little cafe to get direction adjustments for the trip over the Alps, and had a few espressos with some nice Italian ladies that gave me directions via a route called Passo de Tonale, the famous Passo de Tonale, of course. The Italians are so dramatic all th etime, I guess it must be the gallons of expresso they constantly drink..........sure as hell ain't the wine. :)

 Finally the summit of Passo de Tonale, 9,500 feet above sea level. AND it is cold and windy here. Brrrrrrrrrrrr! Achoo! Thar she blows!

 I stopped to full up with Benzene (Diesel) and this was on the pump, made of wood.

 

 I had to turn around cause I missed a turn and this guy was looking curious, he was friendly. A cute cookie.

 Part of the problem was being stuck in home from Easter holiday traffic for over an hour, just crawling a 2 mph stop and start. :(

I was talking on the phone with Ron then.

 

 During this shot, the only thing moving was this train passing by. :(

 Me digs at the Hotel VIlla Sassa, cool place. They gave me a studion flat. WOW!

 

 Armed with a terrace and viranda.

 

 I really feel sick so I am going to kip.

 

 This morning, still quite ill with this terrible cold; sneezing and nasal drip, with 100F fever and chills and aching muscles. Feelin a tad woozy.

 

However, business as usual. Switch meetings today and tomorrow so I have to get me horse manure together for the deal making.
