Europe Vol II: 2nd day in London
Still with back pain, I walked 6.5 miles from the hotel to past the Lambeth Bridge and then across the Westminster Bridge up through Whitehall past Trafalgar Square then up the Strand to the Waterloo Bridge and back again. By the time I got back to the hotel I was limping due to the pain. I leave on the morrow for a train from St. Pancras Station to Dover Priory Station to take the P&O Ferry to Calais and rent a car at Hertz for the long trip to Berne Switzerland, 9.5 hours drive through France and into Switzerland.
Here are the photos I took along the walk today, Oh I also walked this evening to the pillar box byt St. Thomas Hospital and the Florence Nightingale Museum there, to send postcards.
6:30 AM UTC
Westminster Bridge Road
Morning Ben!
A tad foggy this morn.
8:00 AM and after an English BreakfastI
I'm Starting on me 6.5 jaunt around Lambeth and Whitehall.
No I'm not going to hospital, I'm afraid they will keep me for a few days. I've got bigger fish to fry. No time for that bedside crap.
On the Albert Embankment, walking.
The International Maritime Organization HQ.
Of course, I miss me bike.
London Fire Brigade HQ.
They test fires there.
A lucky shot.
Well, do you blame me? Nudge nudge, wink wink! :)
Heading up Whitehall.
I left this out of focus shot as an artistic statement
about these MPs being out of focus and out of touch with
the needs of the people. Wankers!
All Hail Thee, Macbeth, for that shalt be King hereafter!
Trafalgar Square.
Over the years, I;ve had many re-occurring dreams of this building and me. ???
The National Gallery, a scene from Sky Fall was filmed in it.
Charing Cross Station
At least they tell you it's horse meat; in Bulgaria and Romania. ;)
A huge empty frame outside the hotel. ???
Now I'm tired and ready for some kip.
Nightingale All!
Cheers,
Limpin' me
